Program Note:

I started brainstorming this piece in early June of 2020. The world was in a very interesting and dark place following the death of George Floyd with hundreds of protests occurring in cities globally. Initially, I thought I would create a piece that expressed my anger and hopelessness. Instead, I decided to create a piece that represented many thoughts and new perspective of the world. In Thought, has moments of deep introspection and questioning, as well as uneasiness and tension. The ending uses a figure that I used throughout the piece that sounds optimistic but also raises questions.
